Indian researchers develop biodegradable drone packaging

A team of scientists at IISER Kolkata has developed a biodegradable packaging material made from agricultural waste designed to safely transport drones and sensitive electronics. The material uses compressed husk composites that shock-absorb and degrade in soil within six months. It replaces plastics now used in logistics and aims to reduce e-waste. Plans are underway with a logistics startup to test the packaging on drone delivery routes in West Bengal and Assam.
